BMW Teaser Shows 2nd Generation X2 with Eye-Catching Face LED Lightning

BMW Teaser Shows 2nd Generation X2 with Eye-Catching Face LED Lightning

BMW pioneered the SUV Coupe segment when they launched sloped back BMW X6 in 2008, providing a sportier alternative to its predecessor X5 crossover. The X2 line-up joined the line-up as a counterpart to the subcompact crossover X1 in 2018 with minimal changes.

BMW shared the teaser of the next generation X2 shrouded in darkness, revealing the silhouette shot giving a peak of the roofline that dives downward in quite a dramatic fashion compared to the previous generation X2.  The video showcases the bold LED lighting in the front end, outlining the octagonal kidney grille. The addition of headlights features showcasing two vertical LED elements with a slight kink in the middle, similar to the latest generation 2024 X5.

BMW hasn’t revealed in-depth details about the next generation X2, but it is expected to ride on the same platform as the X1. BMW X2 runs on a similar engine, which is reasonably practical with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine in the base model that roars 241 horsepower.

BMW also plans to reveal an all-electric iX2, which will be offered in the United States as the X1 is limited to Europe. However, the second generation X2 will debut before the end of the year and arrive in the US for sale as a 2025 line-up model.
