What Are Different Types of Fuel Injection Systems in Cars?

Have you heard about the fuel injection system in your car? How many types of fuel injection are there in your vehicle? It is important to know your needs for the cars by understanding its functionality. Let’s check some important information about fuel injection arrangement in your vehicles.

Fuel injection systems are one of the important parts that affect the design of the vehicle

Throttle body Injection(single point)

It is the simplest and easiest type of fuel injection. With one or two fuel injections it can simply replace the carburetor in the throttle body, which acts as the main mouth for engine intake. The single-point shot is the first step for a more complicated multipoint method.

Though it might not give as precise results as the systems that have followed, Carburetor is efficient but not as good as TBI as it measures fuel more precisely and with more control and is cheap.

Multipoint fuel Injection(Port)

Separate injector nozzle to cylinder fulfills the thirst of each cylinder which looks like a port. MPFI is even more efficient than TBIs as the intake port provides assurance that is almost drawn completely into the cylinder.

It improves all the ratios as needed and eliminates the possibility that fuel will consolidate or get in the consumption manifold. While in TBI and carburetor, the engine gets heated up and vapouriz liquid fuel.

Sequential fuel Injection

Sequential Port Fuel Injection(SPFI) or Sequential fuel injections have multiport injections. In MPFI fuel gets injected into each cylinder at the same time with air pressure and might hang up the engine for more than 100 milliseconds, when the engine is idling.

While in Sequential fuel Injections each injector nozzle triggers independently. Clocked like spark twists, they sprinkle the fuel directly before or as their input valve frees. It might look like a minor step, but performance and ejection supplements come in very definite portions.

Direct Injection

The direct injection takes the fuel a long way as far as it can go, injecting fuel straight right the flaming cells, past the valves. More popular in diesel motors, direct injection is beginning to jump up in gasoline engine configurations.

Again, Direct injection metering gives precise results than other injection schemes i.e. better than TBI, MPFI, SFI, and the direct injection gives engineers yet different variables to determine specifically how combustion befalls in the cylinders. The art of engine layout examines how the air-fuel blend whirls throughout the cylinders and how the blast moves from the combustion point.

Conclusion

Parts like cylinder shape and piston, spark plug, port location, duration, timing, spark intensity, spark plug per cylinder all these things affect the fuel combustion. It is suggested to follow and understand the important points to know about types of fuel injection system in your vehicles.
