The brand that was discontinued

From 1989 until 1997, General Motors offered compact vehicles and SUVs under the Geo brand in the US. To compete with the expanding market of imported cars, particularly those from Japan, which provided great fuel economy and affordable costs, Geo was developed. General Motors manufactured geo vehicles in partnerships with Toyota, Suzuki, and Isuzu, and were either based on or badge-engineered from Japanese models. Following the 1997 model year, Geo was phased out and integrated with Chevrolet, selling select Geo cars under its brand until the start of the 2000s.
