2024 Cadillac CT4-V Overview

With the 472-hp Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, we all have the same dream of a daily commute that involves hairpin turns and ascending esses rather than construction cones. Thanks to its exceptional balance and ability to handle both realities, the CT4-V Blackwing was able to receive both an Editors' Choice and a 10Best award in 2024, marking its third consecutive year of recognition. The twin-turbo V-6 engine under the hood responds quickly, sending up to 445 pound-feet of torque to the back wheels when called upon. There is an option to transfer gears with a 10-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission in between exciting moments. The Blackwing's adjustable dampers are ideal for absorbing small bumps and controlling the chassis in both every day and high-performance track conditions.

What Is 2023 Bringing?

Cadillac's 20th Anniversary graphics and new color options for the 2024 CT4-V Blackwing honor two decades of V-series hot rods. Velocity Red, Cyber Yellow Metallic, Coastal Blue Metallic, and Black Diamond Tricoat are among the new color possibilities. Just to rub it in, the CT4-V Blackwing also receives a second "Blackwing" insignia underneath the V emblem.

Cost and Selection of Items for Purchase

The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing (2024) is priced starting at $62,890.

Performance, Engine, and Transmission

With its twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 engine, the CT4-V Blackwing generates 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic or a regular six-speed manual gearbox is used to transfer that power to the back wheels. There is no all-wheel drive option. Based on our initial driving impressions, the Blackwing boasts an excellent ride-handling balance, plenty of steering input, and sounds better than its ATS-V predecessor. All models are equipped with a strong braking system, an electronic limited-slip differential, and adjustable dampers to prepare them for the racetrack. The CT4-V Blackwing with the manual box recorded 1.01 gs on our skidpad, reached 60 mph in 4.0 seconds, and stopped from 70 mph in 153 feet on our test track. All three figures are less than those of the 503-hp, all-automatic BMW M3 Competition we drove, but the Caddy has a more lively feel and improves driver-car interaction.

Cargo, Comfort, and Interior

When compared to the standard CT4 series, the CT4-V Blackwing's interior boasts a few more luxuries, like as carbon-fiber trim, microsuede accents, and more comfortable front seats. Other than that, the layout and design are the same as those of its more subdued siblings. Although the Blackwing's cabin quality hasn't quite lived up to Cadillac's standards, there are plenty of high-end equipment available. A 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster and specially bolstered front seats with 18-way power adjustments and heated cushions are standard equipment on the 'Wing. These front thrones may be upgraded to a snazzier pair that includes lumbar massage, ventilation, and even more forceful bolstering. Similar to the standard CT4, the Blackwing's interior design and load capacity include helpful cubby storage and a trunk that held five carry-on suitcases in our testing.

Connectivity and Entertainment

An 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone charging, several charging outlets, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto is included on every CT4-V Blackwing. Thankfully, Cadillac has upgraded its infotainment system with a useful rotary knob and physical buttons in place of its outdated CUE interface, which mostly relied on confusing touch-sensitive controls. A 14-speaker AKG radio with lightweight components and brushed aluminum grilles is also included as standard equipment with the Blackwing.

Features for Safety and Driver Assistance

Numerous driver-assistance technologies are standard on Cadillac's compact high-performance sedan. The optional Driver Assist package includes extras like rear automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.

  • Automated emergency braking and standard forward-collision warning
  • blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic warning as standard
  • Regular lane-keeping assistance and lane-departure warning

Coverage for Maintenance and Warranty

Cadillac's powertrain coverage is longer than that of Audi or BMW, even though its limited warranty is comparable to that of other premium rivals. Better complimentary maintenance is offered by those German options, though, particularly with BMW's three-year or 36,000-mile warranty.

  • A limited warranty is valid for 50,000 miles or four years.
  • The powertrain warranty lasts for 70,000 miles or six years.
  • Free maintenance is included on the initial visit.
