2024 Chevrolet Camaro Overview

Chevrolet is preparing for a new model after the sixth-generation Camaro has been available for more than eight years. One of our favorite muscle cars is getting ready for destruction as we itch to learn more about what's coming next. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all 2024 Camaro models, which come in coupe and soft-top convertible body styles. A 335-hp V-6 and a heart-pounding 455-hp V-8 are available powertrains. We assess the high-performance, 650-hp Camaro ZL1 individually. Dodge buried its cherished Challenger, and Ford unveiled a new Mustang, the Camaro's crosstown competitors have parted ways. Chevy claims that the Camaro will make a comeback sometime, and we anticipate that it will be electrified. We'll gladly enjoy the thundering wake in the meantime.

What Is 2024 Bringing?

In 2024, Chevy will be announcing the sixth-generation Camaro. Although the sixth generation of Camaro, which has been burning rubber since the 2016 model year, will be honored with a unique Collector's Edition, this does not mean the end of the car. It will show up for the last year of the Camaro. Chevy hasn't disclosed all the details of the Collector's Edition, but it has stated that it would be installed on a select few ZL1 cars in addition to the RS and SS variants. We're still hoping for a last batch of Z/28s before the production line for the sixth-generation Camaro closes.

Cost and Selection of Items for Purchase

The 2024 Chevy Camaro ranges in price from $32,495 to $49,890, depending on the model and extras.

Performance, Engine, and Transmission

A 335-hp V-6 engine paired with a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission powers the basic drivetrain. Although the powerful six-cylinder engine produces a unique and intense sound, the actual power comes from the optional small-block V-8 engine of the Camaro, which produces 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. The optional dual-mode exhaust adds to its amazing low-end torque, linear power delivery, and chest-compressing acceleration. It bursts into a piercing bark at ignition and produces thundering noises during wide-open throttle blasts. In keeping with the enthusiast's mindset, the V-8, like the V-6, may also be obtained with a six-speed manual transmission; a 10-speed automatic is also available here. (The basic transmission is a six-speed manual for vehicles without the 1LE package.) Unmatched among pony cars, the Camaro's incredible chassis offers a car-and-driver connection (see what we did there?). Its sturdy construction allows for accurate handling and a high-quality feel. Its smooth ride is comfortable on uneven terrain yet robust enough to be maneuverable on winding routes. When combined with the 1LE system, the coupes outperform vehicles in their class, competing with expensive sports cars with nicer names. On the racetrack, the 1LE-equipped cars are rigid, but on public roads, they are easygoing. Their electrically assisted power-steering systems respond with great accuracy and modest effort. Excellent brakes round off the performance trifecta on the hot Chevy; the brake pedal always responds with a progressive and comforting feel. Even more powerful, race-ready Brembo brakes are included with the 1LE variants.

Cargo, Comfort, and Interior

Better materials and a more contemporary style distinguish the Camaro's interior from that of the previous model. Its simple design and cozy front seats are its strong characteristics, but its back seat's cramped size and poor sight make it impractical for a people carrier. Although it is not available in the Ford Mustang or Dodge Challenger, a head-up display is a helpful addition. Customizable ambient inside lighting is another option for the Camaro, which gives it a stylish aspect. Although the Chevy outperforms its competitors in terms of track performance and driving enjoyment, adults are essentially unable to use the back seat. In terms of interior storage and load capacity, the Camaro is likewise inferior. It included the fewest carry-on bags out of all of them.

Connectivity and Entertainment

All Camaro models come with an intuitive touchscreen that works with Chevy's Infotainment 3 app. Although the bigger 8.0-inch touchscreen makes greater use of the available space, the plastic bezel is awkwardly angled downward and has a chintzy appearance. Otherwise, I like how well-organized the menus and controls are combined. Everything about Chevy's arrangement is standard: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that can be accessed without putting a smartphone into a USB socket; beautiful menus; rapid feedback; and easy-to-use controls. Additionally, there is a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Features for Safety and Driver Assistance

The Chevy Pony car is equipped with several safety features while having fewer driver-assistance technologies than its competitors. Visit the websites of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for further details on the Camaro's crash test results. Important safety characteristics consist of:

  • Blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic warning are optional.
  • Forward-collision warning system available
  • Rear parking sensors are available.

Coverage for Maintenance and Warranty

When compared positively to Ford and Dodge, Chevrolet's limited and powertrain warranties are available. Additionally, the initial maintenance service is provided free of charge by the Bow Tie brand.

  • A limited warranty is valid for 36 months or 36,000 miles.
  • A powertrain warranty is valid for 60,000 miles or five years.
  • Free maintenance is included on the initial visit.
